2540 Anti-Fouling RO Membrane Element for Pilot & Compact Water Treatment
Introduction:Standard 2540 brackish water RO membranes are easily contaminated when raw water contains organic substances and biological impurities, leading to quick flux decline and short service cycles. Our 2540 anti-fouling RO membrane targets compact skid systems and pilot water treatment projects. The membrane surface adopts low surface energy hydrophilic coating technology, which greatly weakens the adhesion of organic matter and biofilm. The reinforced support layer can tolerate pressure fluctuation and repeated chemical cleaning. It keeps standard 2.5-inch size, fully compatible with mainstream 2540 membrane housings. Compared with conventional 2540 RO elements, it has better tolerance to fluctuating raw water quality, serving as the ideal replacement for pilot water test, small commercial pure water and low-flow wastewater reuse projects.

Product parameter:
Laboratory pilot tests, small commercial water treatment and skid-mounted pure water systems often face high risks of membrane fouling and difficult maintenance. Our factory supplies reliable Liquid Filters and high-performance Self Cleaning Filter to construct complete pretreatment protection for small RO units. This 2540 Anti-Fouling RO Membrane Element uses upgraded hydrophilic modified polyamide thin film composite material, developed for compact, low-flow water purification skids. It intercepts colloids, organic pollutants and bio-slime efficiently, maintaining stable salt rejection while resisting pollutant deposition. It is widely used for pilot water quality testing, small beverage factories, lab pure water and small wastewater recycling, lowering cleaning frequency and extending membrane service life with low capital cost.
Working Principle

This 2540 anti-fouling RO membrane follows pressure-driven reverse osmosis separation theory. The modified hydrophilic membrane surface forms a stable thin water film. When raw water flows along the membrane surface, organic contaminants, grease and biological slime cannot easily attach and accumulate. Water molecules penetrate the composite membrane to produce permeate water, while dissolved salts, colloids and fine suspended solids are intercepted and carried away by concentrated water. Combined with front-end Liquid Filters and Self Cleaning Filter, it reduces solid particles reaching the membrane surface, forming dual physical filtration and material anti-fouling protection to slow down performance decay.

FAQ
Q1: What are the main application differences between 2540 RO membrane and 4040 /8040 models?
A1: 2540 is smaller in size and lower in water production, mainly used for pilot testing, small skid machines and laboratory water treatment, while 4040 and 8040 are for larger commercial and industrial systems.
Q2: Can this 2540 anti-fouling RO membrane work for wastewater reuse?
A2: Yes, it can handle low-to-medium organic wastewater after proper pretreatment. It is widely chosen for small wastewater recycling skids.
Q3: Is this membrane compatible with existing 2540 membrane housing?
A3: Yes, it adopts standard 2.5-inch 40-inch size, plug and play replacement for all standard 2540 vessels.
Q4: How often do we need to clean this anti-fouling RO membrane?
A4: Cleaning cycle depends on raw water quality. With qualified pretreatment including Liquid Filters and Self Cleaning Filter, cleaning frequency can be reduced by 30% compared with ordinary 2540 RO membranes.
Q5: What is the expected service life of 2540 anti-fouling RO membrane?
A5: Under stable operating conditions and good pretreatment, the service life can reach 1.5 to 2 years.
