In the field of industrial equipment maintenance, the EPC (Engineering General Contracting) model has

become an important choice for enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency due to its unique

advantage of integrated management of "design procurement construction". The Lefeldt EPC project

team has recently successfully completed the replacement of 1250 high-speed filter media in a steel

rolling mill, setting a new benchmark for industrial equipment maintenance with professional technical

capabilities and full process control.

Project Background and Technical Challenges

8

The 1250 high-speed filter in a certain steel rolling mill is the core equipment of the water treatment system,

and its filter performance directly affects water quality and production efficiency. As the filter material ages

and the equipment efficiency decreases, it is urgent for a professional team to intervene and maintain it.

After taking on the task, the LEFILTER EPC project team developed a plan to address the following technical

difficulties:

High precision construction requirements: 580 filter caps need to be replaced for a single equipment, and

quartz sand (4-8mm, height 1m) and anthracite (4-8mm, height 1.2m) need to be filled in layers, with strict

precision requirements.

Multi party collaborative management: clarify the division of responsibilities between the factory and

construction parties, such as cleaning and acceptance of old materials, review of new material quality

certificates, etc.

Green construction standard: The transportation of waste filter materials must be fully covered and protected

to avoid environmental pollution, while ensuring the rapid recovery and operation of equipment.

Advantages of the entire EPC project process

Technical solution:

Accurate execution from design to implementation

Parameterized custom design: Based on core parameters such as equipment processing capacity (385m ³/h)

and filtration area (9.62m ²), the Lefeldt team customizes filter material filling solutions to ensure filtration

efficiency and flow rate meet standards.

Quality control throughout the entire process: All materials used in construction, such as filter caps and

quartz sand, are accompanied by quality certification documents. The factory conducts on-site inspections

to eliminate unqualified materials.

Staged acceptance mechanism: After cleaning the old materials, they need to be confirmed by the factory

as "no residue". After filling with new materials, the stability of the equipment is verified through a water

test to ensure that it passes the first acceptance.

Technical solution:

Accurate execution from design to implementation

Clear interface division of labor: The factory provides water, electricity, and basic materials, while the

LEFILTER team is responsible for tool supply, filter cap replacement, and the entire construction process.

The division of responsibilities is clear to avoid buck passing.

Green construction practice: Waste filter materials are transported outside in a standardized manner by

a professional team, and dust covers are implemented during transportation. After completion, the site

is thoroughly cleaned to achieve the goal of "clean materials and clean site".

Dynamic process supervision: Key processes such as layered filling of filter materials, equipment emptying, etc.

are monitored by dedicated personnel to ensure construction accuracy and safety.

Core Value of EPC Model:

Dual improvement of efficiency and reliability

Shorten cycle by 20%: The Lefeldt team coordinates the design, procurement, and construction processes,

reducing cross departmental communication costs and rapidly advancing the project.

Efficient resource integration: Independently equipped with professional tools and filter caps to reduce the

pressure on factory resource allocation.

Technical support: Responsible for the entire process of equipment trial operation results, ensuring rapid

production recovery and reducing downtime losses.

From technological upgrading to management innovation, the Lefeldt EPC project provides efficient and

reliable solutions for the industrial sector with full chain service capabilities. The success of the filter material

replacement project at a certain steel rolling mill is a reflection of technical strength and a deep integration

of teamwork and green concepts.
