Product Introduction
The LFQ series shallow sand filter, equipped with sturdy water filter housing, functions as a reliable self-cleaning filter for medium and large-scale water purification. It consists of one or multiple standard high-speed filtration units. Water flows through the internal water distributor and water collector, removing particulate pollutants and lowering water turbidity effectively. When fitted with customized filter media such as activated carbon or anthracite, it can further adsorb organic compounds and ions in water. Filtration units cover sizes from 16 inch (400mm) up to 96 inch (2400mm), supporting flexible installation layouts. It can run as an independent filtration set with existing water supply pumps, or be equipped with a dedicated pump as a side-stream filter. Multiple filter units can be installed on shared pipe manifolds to expand the overall treatment capacity without limits. Three backwash modes are available: manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic. Operators can trigger backwashing via manual buttons, PLC, differential pressure signal or management platform. Both backwash cycle and duration are adjustable; the factory default backwash time is 3 minutes. It can be controlled by a DCS automatic filtration system, or optional PLC control for centralized management and remote communication.
Working Principle

When the system is in filtration mode, pressurized raw water enters the water distribution system and spreads evenly across the filter media bed. Suspended solids are trapped by the sand layer, and filtered clean water is collected uniformly by the precision slotted collector at the tank bottom before flowing out of the filter. As contaminants accumulate inside the media bed, pressure loss gradually rises. Once the differential pressure hits the preset threshold or the scheduled cleaning time arrives, the system automatically switches to backwash status. Pressurized water flows reversely through the collector into the filter bed, scouring the sand media to dislodge trapped sludge and discharge wastewater out of the system. After a minimum 2-minute backwash cycle, the valves reset automatically and the unit returns to normal filtration.

Core Advantages
Key core components adopt imported original parts for stable and reliable long-term operation.
Single-chamber filter element design delivers superior backwashing performance and greatly lowers sand leakage rate.
The water collector supports stainless steel or ABS material options to extend service life.
The water storage tank is arranged at the bottom of the unit, which reduces water resistance and simplifies inspection & maintenance work.
High filtration velocity with low pressure drop, solving the pain points of slow speed and limited flow capacity on conventional media filters.
Modular layout saves over 40% of floor space and cuts piping engineering workload by more than 50%, reducing overall investment cost.
Flexible backwash water source selection: internal system water, water tower water or external water supply, with automatic switching available for special requirements.
Wide size range from 16” to 96”, multi-tank parallel connection enables unrestricted flow scaling according to project demand.
